On 1st September 2021, Anne Van Bavel joined the EGDE team as a research and coordination assistant.
Anne graduated last year from the master in political science (democracy and leadership) at the VUB. She also holds a master's degree in history from the University of Antwerp. She conducts research within the field of gender and politics at the VUB's department of Political Science.
Anne is currently preparing a PhD proposal on violence against women in politics in the Belgian context. Besides that, her main research interests are the political representation of women, gender-based violence, intersectionality and gender equality.
